COLUMBUS, Ohio - Baylor women's tennis' Zuzana Cerna advanced to the round of 16 at this weekend's Intercollegiate Tennis Association's National Indoor Championships hosted by Ohio State University. This year's event takes place Nov. 2-5, at the Racquet Club of Columbus, Ohio.
Cerna, ranked 14th nationally by the ITA, defeated Ohio State's Julie Blackmore 6-1, 7-5 in the first round. Blackmore entered the tournament as the host school's wild card participant and is unranked nationally.
In today's round of 16, Cerna battles fourth-seeded Melanie Gloria from Fresno State. Gloria currently ranks 19th in the ITA polls. The winner of the round of 16 match will play in the quarterfinals which are slated to begin no earlier than 5:00 p.m. Friday.
