WACO, Texas - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the regional Fila collegiate tennis rankings Friday, highlighting Baylor's women's tennis program. Five Bears are ranked in the Southwest region's top 10 and one doubles team appeared in the top 15.
Senior Zuzana Cerna tops Baylor's rankings at No. 4, her highest regional ranking to date. The Bears other veterans to appear are No. 5 Klara Zrustova, No. 6 Zuzana Zemenova, and No. 10 Iva Mihaylova.
Two freshmen were selected to the poll, No. 7 Jessica Zok and No. 9 Lenka Broosova.
The Cerna/Broosova tandem appeared on the doubles list at No. 3.
The full regional rankings include players from 11 programs including Baylor, Houston, LSU, Rice, Sam Houston State, SMU, Southeastern Louisiana, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UT-Arlington, and UT-El Paso.
National rankings will be released by the ITA January 9.
