After submitting its 192-page self-study to the NCAA last fall, the Baylor athletic department will take the next step in the certification process with an on-campus visit from an NCAA Peer Review Team, Feb. 15-16.

"We look forward to having the Peer Review Team on campus," said Baylor Director of Athletics Ian McCaw. "Baylor is one of only a handful of institutions to ever submit a self-study report that had no areas of concern identified by either the NCAA staff or the certification committee. I want to commend our certification team on its tremendous work in completing a thorough self-study report."

The Peer Review Team will meet with Baylor President Dr. John Lilley as well as members of the various committees that completed the self-study process, including faculty members, administrators, coaches and student-athletes. The Peer Review Team visiting the Baylor campus is comprised of Dr. William Muse, former President of Auburn University and former Chancellor of East Carolina University, Maureen Harty, Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance at Northwestern University and NCAA staff liaison Susan Peal.

During its on-campus visit, the Peer Review Team will verify the accuracy of the self-study report and its broad-based participation throughout the process, while also evaluating the athletic department's conformity with NCAA operating principles.

The team will issue its final certification report on the Baylor athletic department by late spring, McCaw said.
