BaylorBears.com to Broadcast Softball Home Games

WACO, Texas --- For the first time in school history, live internet audio will be available at BaylorBears.com for every home game during the 2006 Baylor softball season. In addition to the internet radio schedule, live video will be available for eight games during the season on BearCast.
The broadcast schedule for the 2006 Baylor softball season also includes 10 games on the Lady Bears' flagship station, KRZI 1580-AM in Waco. The over-the-air schedule includes the eight games broadcast over BearCast in addition to contests at Texas and at Texas A&M. 1580-AM will also broadcast every Baylor softball post-season game during the 2006 season.
For the 2006 season, Derek Smith will handle play-by-play duties with former Baylor pitcher Katie Decker providing color analysis. Smith is in his first season serving as play-by-play voice for the Lady Bears and has served as a public address announcer for several Baylor athletic events in addition to handling play-by-play duties for selected volleyball matches during the 2005 season. Decker returns for her second year in the booth.
Baylor softball internet audio on BaylorBears.com is free while users can purchase access for live, video streaming to a number of selected events for $6.95 per month.

The No. 10 Baylor softball team opens its season when the Lady Bears face Tulsa at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, as they open play at the Getterman Classic.
