COLUMBIA, Mo. - Not even stormy weather could keep Baylor's women's tennis team from continuing its winning streak this afternoon at Missouri. After the Bears won two of the three doubles matches, rain forced the teams to move indoors with a 15 minute break before continuing with singles. Baylor defeated the Tigers 5-2.

In doubles, the 24th-ranked Baylor duo Zuzana Cerna and Klara Zrustova downed Missouri's Erika Josbena and Amanda Pratzel 8-1 on court No. 1 while Zuzana Zemenova and Iva Mihaylova blanked Yelena Olshanskaya and Stephanie Johns 8-0 on court two. Daniela Covello and Rachel Clark competed together in their first doubles match as partners but fell 8-6 in a tough battle against Chrissy Svetlic and Val Dandik. At the end of doubles, Baylor took the first point and the first lead in the match.

The first set of singles had barely finished when the rains came and forced the matches indoors. The break didn't slow the Bears as they claimed four more points on the singles courts. No. 13 Zemenova appeared on court one and best Olshanskaya 6-0, 7-6(4) while No. 14 Cerna defeated Lubica Nadasska 6-1, 6-4 on court two. Zrustova tallied another point for Baylor on court three with her impressive 6-0, 6-2 win against Dandik. Meanwhile, Mihaylova snapped a losing streak when she battled Josbena to a 6-2, 6-4 victory on court four.

Baylor's Clark fell on court five to Amanda Pratzel 6-0, 6-1 as Missouri prevented a shut-out. The final match on court six was declared a default win for the Tigers.

Baylor extended its overall record to 11-2 with today's victory, its fifth-straight dating back to Feb. 27.

With Missouri behind them, the Bears prepare to travel to California for a pair of matches against Pepperdine and USC next week.
