The Baylor football team reached the midway point of spring practice with Tuesday's half-pad workout on the Floyd Casey Stadium turf. Heavy rains which swept through Central Texas during the early morning hours forced the Bears to drill on the turf rather than their grass practice fields.

"I think we (the offense) got overwhelmed today by the defense," said Baylor coach Guy Morriss. "They (the defense) out-worked us today. The offense had a fairly good day Saturday, so the defensive coaches come off the field in the same mood I'm in right now. So, they fuss at their guys and crank it up today. It's a give and take out there."

Baylor is slated to complete its third week of spring practice with workouts on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The Bears conclude spring drills April 8 with the annual Green & Gold Game at 1 p.m. in Floyd Casey Stadium.

All practices are open to the public.

Notes: Through eight practices, the Bears have reported no major injuries ... Sophomore OG Dan Gay returned to the practice field Tuesday after missing last week with a shoulder strain ... Senior DT M.T. Robinson sustained a right knee strain during Saturday's practice and could miss the remainder of spring drills ... Senior P Daniel Sepulveda has earned preseason first-team All-America honors from the college football website www.nationalchamps.net ... He was one of six Big 12 players to receive first-team All-America status ... Senior CB C.J. Wilson earned honorable mention All-America recognition from the same site.
