No. 9 Women's Tennis Hosts Battle of the Bears

WACO, Texas - The No. 9 Baylor Bears will host the No. 10 California Bears for the programs' first-ever match tomorrow at 5 o'clock at the Baylor Tennis Center. Baylor enters the match with a 15-3 spring record while California has earned a 10-4 record.

California is in Fort Worth today to play TCU before heading to Waco. The Golden Bears' last match resulted in a 6-1 loss to top-ranked Stanford on March 11. Along with team's high ranking, five individuals are ranked nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Junior Zsuzsanna Fodor is ninth while sophomore Suzi Babos is 29th. Sophomores Cristina Visiso and Marion Ravelojaona are 77th and 79th, respectively. Finally, sophomore Stephanie Kusano also cracked the list at 115th.

In doubles for California, Fodor appears twice in the rankings with different partners, 26th when paired with Babos and 58th when playing with Claire Ilcinkas.

Baylor boasts three individuals ranked by ITA. Sophomore Zuzana Zemenova heads the rankings at eighth while junior Zuzana Cerna is 16th and senior Daniela Covello is 92nd. The Bears also have two ranked doubles teams as Cerna and Klara Zrustova are 28th and Zemenova and Covello are 39th.
