WACO, Texas - Several Baylor athletes paid a visit to Quality Care Nursing Home on Tuesday.
Athletes from four sports were present including Missy McConnell, Anna Schuch, and Shea Yates from soccer. Mamadou Diene and Kevin Rogers represented basketball. Stella Odion and Jon Weeks represented volleyball and football. Baylor mascot Bruiser made a special appearance as well.
The athletes helped out at the Baylor Day event which included lunch, games and a raffle giving away Baylor Athletics memorabilia.
Carol Haverkamp, the volunteer coordinator at Quality Care, commented, "It is not often that the residents experience something like this. They will be talking about it for a long time."
Baylor athletes and coaches frequently perform volunteer work in the community. To request the appearance of a Baylor student-athlete or coach, please contact Ray DeWeese at (254) 710-3073.
