When did you start playing your sport?
My freshman year of high school I played baseball.
Who has had the greatest impact on your career?
My high school coach, Wayne Daigle.
What is the best part of being a college athlete?
Having the opportunity to let the sport that I love pay for my education.
If you weren't playing the sport you are now, which sport would you want to play?
I guess soccer, it's another sport I was planning on playing. Maybe I'd pick up an individual sport like tennis.
What is your nickname on the team and why?
Harm or Schwetty
After meeting Coach Moore, what was you first thought?
That he ran a very disciplined program, which I liked. That was one of my big attractions to the program. He's also pretty young for an experienced coach.
What position would you like to play other than your own?
If my knees were good I'd love to play catcher.
Do you have a pre-game ritual?
No, I'm not superstitious. I do eat skittles during the game, but it's not like a ritual.
What is the most unique item in your locker?
I have a toothbrush, I brush my teeth before I come play. It's kind of not normal, not normal to everyone.
Who are your favorite sports heroes?
I'm not big into professional sports, but I expect Michael Jordan is a pretty typical one and Mia Hamm.
What athletes did you imitate when you were a kid?
None
Where is your favorite place to go after a game/event?
To go eat at Mcalister's
What's the best venue you've played in?
Getterman Stadium.
What is the highlight of your sports career?
Hopefully it hasn't happened yet. Hopefully it's this year and we win. It's every year doing better, not just one event. We've gotten better and more successful every year as a program, so hopefully this year we'll win and go all the way to the World Series and win that.
What's your most embarrassing sports moment?
I've had a few of them. My cleet got caught in the loop of my shoestring and we were in the huddle slapping and I went off and I totally fell on the field. Another time I was batting and it was a hit and run and I fell as I was hitting it. I don't get embarrassed easily, so I just played it off, but it was one of those embarrassing moments.
What opposing school do you most look forward to competing against?
All of the Texas schools are big schools to play...especially Big 12 when there's so much riding on it. Texas A&M and UT are good competition. I don't like OU, so I like playing them, and then any team that is ranked above us is good to play. I like being the underdog and going into a game with people saying we have to do a lot to win and then beating them.
Why did you choose to attend Baylor?
Knowing the coaching staff and the program; I liked the discipline of the team and intensity of the program.
What's the most important thing you've learned as a Baylor athlete?
I'm still working on it, but time management.
