WACO, Texas -- Baylor football concluded its first week of spring practice Thursday on the practice fields at Floyd Casey Stadium. The Bears donned helmets and shoulder pads for the spring's third session. Baylor now will take an 11-day break for the university's spring vacation.

"We had three good practices," fourth-year Baylor head coach Guy Morriss said. "We've got the offense in place, and everyone seems to be picking it up pretty well."

Morriss said the break comes at a good time.

"They've been in class for a while now and in off-season conditioning, so they need a break," Morriss said. "We'll come back in a couple weeks and start polishing things off."

Baylor returns to the practice field for an afternoon session Tuesday, March 21. The Bears conclude spring practice April 8 with the annual Green & Gold Game at 1 p.m. in Floyd Casey Stadium.
