WACO, Texas - With a day off before the Green & Gold Game, Baylor football players Corey Gindratt, Roman James, LeQuantum McDonald, and Marlon Price visited Sul Ross Elementary on Friday.
The players discussed the importance of working hard in school and listening to their teachers and coaches to the 5th grade class. They also emphasized the importance of eating right and living a healthy lifestyle in order to perform well on the playing field, in the classroom, and in the workplace.
Cindy Strunk, the physical education teacher at Sul Ross, commented that the topics the players talked about are the same topics the school is emphasizing in its curriculum. She stated that it makes an impression on the students to hear it coming from the players.
Baylor athletes and coaches frequently perform volunteer work in the community in their free time. To request the appearance of a Baylor student-athlete or coach, please contact Ray DeWeese at (254) 710-3073.
