Softball Hosts Oklahoma for Pair of Games

WACO, Texas - The No. 18 Baylor softball team returns to action on Monday as the Lady Bears host No. 21 Oklahoma in a key, Big 12 Conference doubleheader beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Baylor enters the twin-bill with the Sooners with a record of 25-15, 5-3 in the Big 12 Conference, after earning a series split against Kansas this past weekend. Freshman Brette Reagan leads the Lady Bears with a .388 batting average while junior Chelsi Lake leads a powerful Baylor lineup, leading the team with 12 home runs and 40 RBI.
The Lady Bears, who are fourth in the conference standings heading into Monday, are led in the circle by right-hander Lisa Ferguson. In 137.1 innings of work this season, Ferguson has posted a 13-9 record and impressive 1.33 ERA as the junior is holding opponents to a .212 average.
Oklahoma, with a record of 26-14-1 and 3-6 in the conference, enters the doubleheader after earning a split against Texas A&M this past weekend. The Sooners are led by Kristin Vesely, who leads the team with a .480 batting average and 37 RBI.
In the circle, freshman D.J. Mathis leads a pitching staff by committee as the left-hander leads the team with a 10-4 record and 2.43 ERA in 92.0 innings of work.
Oklahoma leads the all-time series with Baylor 26-5; however, the Lady Bears have won three-of-five against the Sooners, including a doubleheader sweep the last time the teams met in Waco.
