LINCOLN, Neb. - The No. 18 Baylor softball team opens a string of five Big 12 Conference games on the road when the Lady Bears travel to face No. 16 Nebraska for the start of a two-game series on Friday, April 14, at 5:00 p.m. Following the Friday contest, Baylor will close out the series with the Huskers with a single game on Saturday, April 15, at 1:00 p.m.

Nebraska (31-6, 5-2), which is a perfect 13-0 at home this season, enters the contest with the Lady Bears riding an 11-game winning streak after a 7-1 victory over Drake on Thursday.

Ashley DeBuhr leads the way for the Huskers in the circle as she leads the team with a 1.36 ERA and has posted a 15-5 record on the season, striking out 170 batters in 118.1 innings of work. Molly Hill has also been solid for the Huskers in the circle this season as the freshman has posted a 16-1 record and 1.56 ERA in 112.1 innings of work.

At the plate, Nebraska is led by Lizzy Aumua who leads the team with a .418 batting average and 31 runs scored. Crystal Carwile provides the pop in the Huskers line-up, leading the team with 11 home runs and 32 RBI. Baylor (27-16, 6-4) enters the series following a 5-0, no-hit victory over Northwestern State on Wednesday. Big 12 Conference Player of the Week Chelsi Lake leads the Lady Bears into the contest, hitting .373 on the season with 14 home runs and 44 RBI. Freshman Brette Reagan also carries a hot bat into the series as the third baseman is currently hitting .388 with 10 home runs and 35 RBI.

In the circle, junior Lisa Ferguson will likely see most of the action against the Huskers as the right-hander has posted a 14-10 record and 1.48 ERA in 146.2 innings of work. The junior has had numerous impressive showings in conference play as she owns a 1.38 ERA against conference opponents and leads the league with three shutouts in conference play.

Nebraska leads the all-time series 26-5 after the two teams split last season. Baylor's last win in Lincoln came on March 29, 2002, when the Lady Bears defeated the Huskers 1-0 as the Huskers own a 7-1 record in games against BU on their home field.

Fans can see the tape-delayed broadcast of game one of the series, played on Friday, on Saturday, April 15, at 6:00 p.m. on CSTV (DIRECTV Channel 610).
