WACO, Texas - Baylor senior Ryan Baca (Richmond, Texas) was named to the 10-member PING All-America First Team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Saturday night following the completion of the NCAA Men's Golf Championships.
Baca was named to the All-America team for the second time in his career after earning honorable mention honors in 2003. He wrapped up the greatest season in Baylor history, breaking the single-season stroke average record by more than a full stroke at 70.59, recording three straight victories, six top-five finishes, eight top-10 finishes and never finishing outside the top 25 in all 13 events. He became the school's all-time leader in victories with six and the all-time leader with 27 top-five finishes.
Baca has been selected to play for the United States' eight-member Palmer Cup Team, which will square off against Europe in Ryder Cup-style format June 29-30 in Prestwick, Scotland. www.BaylorBears.com
