Hello Baylor Fans,
My teammates and I have recently finished up camp and started the 2006-2007 school year. This was the best camp I have been part of, not only on the field, but off the field as well. We stayed in the Clarion Hotel and our meals were catered by Big Daddy's. It was a long 17 days full of meetings, practices and weight training, but Coach Morriss did a great job keeping the camp lively and our bodies fresh. Instead of having two-a-day practices, we had one-a-day practices so that we could stay well rested. These daily practices were high intensity and we got a lot of good work in on both sides of the ball.
I am very excited about the intensity and leadership our team showed throughout camp. The defense was flying all over the place and "swarming" to the football. Coach Bradley and the defensive staff have implemented a great scheme and with the overall team speed on defense, I feel that our defense is going to be great again this fall. I can see how much the offense enjoys the new scheme because of all the fun and excitement my teammates are playing with on every play and drill in practice. This offense brings a lot of fun to the skill positions because of the nature of being pass happy and the ball being spread around to all of the players. However, this offense will also allow the offensive line to punish defenders and make big hits.
There seems to be a lot of excitement around campus about this upcoming season. Between the annual fish fry and "Meet the Bears," I could tell that the fans are really coming out to support our team and we are so thankful. Another exciting change that is evident is the new improvements around the stadium. The stadium looks great with the new banners of former Baylor greats all around Floyd Casey Stadium. There are numerous improvements that I think all of you will be proud of next time you come to the stadium.
All in all, I feel that this is a very talented football team and we have a great chance to do something that has not been done around here in a long time. It was evident all camp by the defense flying around and by the offensive big plays that this team is capable of great things. I hope to see all of you at all the games this season because we are on a mission to make this a very special season.
Sic'em Bears!
