Fans attending football games at Baylor's Floyd Casey Stadium should be aware that there will be an increased security presence this fall in the stadium, according to Baylor Police Chief Jim Doak.
All bags will be subject to search upon guests' entry into the stadium and fans are urged to arrive early to avoid long lines at the gates. No large bags or purses will be allowed in Floyd Casey Stadium and bags may be no bigger than 10x12x6.
Other items that are banned from the stadium include cameras with professional lenses, umbrellas, outside food or drink, artificial noisemakers, pets (with the exception of service animals used by disabled guests), firearms, poles and sticks. Any guest in possession of one of these items when entering the game will be asked to either discard it at the gate or return it to their vehicle. Unlawful items are subject to confiscation, and the person in possession of such items is subject to arrest.
"Our goal is to make everyone's experience at Floyd Casey Stadium as safe and enjoyable as possible," said Doak. "Some of our new security measures will be noticeable, while others will not be. I would ask fans to arrive early to ensure that we get everyone through the gates into the stadium as quickly as possible."
Changes to the stadium's parking configuration have also been made and fans are urged to arrive well in advance of kickoff, Doak said.
