BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Baylor men's golf team returns to action at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate hosted by UAB Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 25-26, at the 7,114-yard, par-72 Shoal Creek Golf Club, site of the 1984 and 1990 PGA Championships.
The tournament consists of 36 holes Monday, followed by 18 holes Tuesday. Tee times begin at 8:15 a.m. both days. LSU is the defending champion of the tournament, which features 12 of last year's top 60 teams.
Baylor will send the team of redshirt freshman Colton Williams (Jacksboro, Texas), junior Wes Williams (Franklin, Tenn.), sophomore Bill Allcorn (Abilene, Texas), redshirt freshman Jeff Gerlich (Austin, Texas) and senior Jeremy Frye (Palestine, Texas). Gerlich will be making his first career start for the Bears.
In its last tournament, Baylor finished seventh at the International Collegiate at The Torrance Course in St. Andrew's Bay, Scotland. Senior Colton Turnquist (Austin, Texas) tied for third to lead the Bears.
The Bears return to action at the Gridiron Golf Classic hosted by Notre Dame Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 9-10, at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
