BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Baylor men's golf team opened with a 301, then followed with a 295 to stand ninth after the first two rounds of the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate Monday at the 7,114-yard, par-72 Shoal Creek Golf Club.
Senior Jeremy Frye (Palestine, Texas) opened with a 1-over par 73, then fired an even-par 72 and is tied for 10th with a total of 145.
Redshirt freshman Jeff Gerlich (Austin, Texas), making his first start for Baylor, is tied for 17th with a total of 147. He shot a first-round 76, then carded a 1-under par 71. Junior Wes Williams (Franklin, Tenn.) is tied for 20th at 149 with rounds of 75 and 74.
Redshirt freshman Colton Williams (Jacksboro, Texas) is tied for 56th at 157 with rounds of 80 and 77. Sophomore Bill Allcorn (Abilene, Texas) is tied for 58th at 158 with rounds of 80 and 78.
The tournament concludes with the final round Tuesday, beginning at 8:15 a.m.
