BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Baylor men's golf team posted a final-round 298 to move up to seventh place with a total of 894 Tuesday at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate at the 7,114-yard, par-72 Shoal Creek Golf Club.
Senior Jeremy Frye (Palestine, Texas) shot a 76 in the final round and tied for 14th to lead the Bears at 221. Redshirt freshman Jeff Gerlich (Austin, Texas), making his first start for Baylor, shot a 77 and tied for 23rd at 224. Redshirt freshman Colton Williams (Jacksboro, Texas) rebounded with a 1-under par 71 to tie for 37th at 226.
Junior Wes Williams (Franklin, Tenn.) carded a 77 and tied for 46th at 228. Sophomore Bill Allcorn (Abilene, Texas) tied for 58th and fired a final-round 74.
The Bears return to action at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic Oct. 9-10 in South Bend, Ind.
