Men's Golf Finishes 7th at International Collegiate

ST. ANDREWS BAY, Scotland - The Baylor men's golf team finished seventh with a 54-hole total of 868, 13 strokes out of first, Sunday at the International Collegiate at the Torrence Course.

Senior Colton Turnquist (Austin, Texas) was playing individually and tied for third at 210 with three consecutive rounds of 70. He finished seven strokes off the lead and two strokes out of second.

Sophomore Bill Allcorn (Abilene, Texas) tied for 12th with a score of 214. He opened with a 77, then followed with a 70 and a 67. Redshirt freshman Colton Williams (Jacksboro, Texas) tied for 17th at 216, shooting rounds of 71, 71 and 74.

Junior Wes Williams (Franklin, Tenn.) finished 29th with a time of 221. He shot 75, 74 and finished with a 72. Senior Chase Thomas (Dallas, Texas) tied for 32nd with a total of 223, shooting 73, 78 and 72. Senior Jeremy Alcorn (Brownwood, Texas) finished 56th at 232. He was solid with a 74 in the first and a 73 in the second, but shot and 83 in the final round.

North Carolina claimed the team title with a score of 855, while Stirling's Gordon Yates took the individual title by five strokes with a total of 203.

The Bears return to action at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate Sept. 25-26 in Birmingham, Ala.
