Hello Baylor Fans,

I can't tell you how amazing it was to come out of the tunnel on Sunday and see the stadium filled with green and gold. It provided us with so much excitement and you do not know how much that really helps. Even though we lost, I feel as though there were many positives that we can take away from the game. Defensively, I feel as though we played good enough to win. With an exception of a few mistakes, our defense pretty much played lights out in my opinion. Offensively, we moved the ball up and down the field against a very talented defense. However, the mistakes in the red zone killed drives and ultimately cost us the game.

Although this was a big game, our team has 100% of our focus off of TCU and on Northwestern State. As soon as the game was over, we all agreed that we couldn't change the outcome of the game and although it hurt, we decided to move on because we are fortunate enough to have eleven more games. Northwestern State is a big game for our team with an opportunity to win our first game and get this season going. One thing for sure, we will not overlook this team because we know how important this game is and we all understand if we do not play well, Northwestern State will take advantage of it.

I hope all the fans will continue come out and make Floyd Casey Stadium look as good as it did this past Sunday. Although we are 0-1 right now, we have eleven more opportunities and we are working hard every single day to take advantage of all of them. I am still really excited about this season and still expect a very successful season. I hope each and every one of you feel the same way. This team is full of experienced players who have been through a lot and I am positive that we will bounce back from this loss. I hope all of you make it to the game this Saturday against Northwestern State as we plan to get this season rolling the right way.

God Bless and Sic'em Bears! -Shawn
