Former Baylor University All-American Ryan Baca fired a final round 70 Thursday en route to his first win as a professional. The Lake Conroe Open, a 54 hole tournament, was played at Walden on Lake Conroe and is the first tournament of 2007 of The Tight Lies Tour - Winter Series. Baca finished 7-under par for the tournament with 11 birdies and only 4 bogeys. He pocketed $4,800 for his effort, which coupled with his two third place and one 12th place finishes late last year, moves him up to number three on the tour's money list.

Baca, who finished his two-time All-American college career at Baylor last Spring, turned pro in July after competing as an amateur in the U.S. Open in New York and the Palmer Cup in Scotland in June. His attempt to qualify for the PGA Tour fell short in the Q School Qualifying tournament in October. Therefore, he'll be playing full time on the U.S. Pro Golf Tour this year while attempting to Monday qualify at selected Nationwide and PGA Tour events.

The U.S. Pro Golf Tour (USPGT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Greens Worldwide Inc., is rapidly becoming the nation's premier intermediary tour. The USPGT delivers a "big tour" experience for players and spectators by providing first class professional tournaments with amenities including: a full week of pro activities including pro-ams, clinics, shoot-outs, live scoreboards, and corporate hospitality.

In 2007, the USPGT will conduct a 10 event tour schedule with purses of $300,000 each. In addition, the USPGT will be aligned with two Regional Players Tours based in California and Texas. These tours will each conduct a 16 event tour schedule with purses of $125,000 each.

Baca continues the Tight Lies Tour next week when he plays in the Woodforest Classic which will be played at the Woodforest Golf Club at Fish Creek in Montgomery, Texas.
