WACO, Texas - Baylor's equestrian team will hit the road for two competitions this week as they take on Kansas State and Oklahoma State on Friday and Saturday.
The Bears and the Wildcats are set to match up on Friday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m., at the Fox Creek Stables while Baylor and OSU will begin at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Animal Science Arena in Stillwater.
Baylor, in its third season as a varsity sport, will be competing for the second time this season when they take on Kansas State. The Bears lost their season opener to Georgia, 16-8, on Sunday, Nov. 30 in Waco. Friday's match will be Kansas State's home opener after it defeated South Dakota State in Brookings, S.D., 11-5. Against Georgia, Baylor's Nicole Brown and Madelyn Mooney garnered MVP honors in English Fences and Western Reining, respectively.
Oklahoma State opened its season on October 6 when it hosted Tennessee-Martin and came away with a 16-4 victory.
Both day's format will feature a series of head-to-head match ups. The team accumulating the most head-to-head victories will win the overall match. In the event of a tie, the victor will be determined by total points. In addition, there will be an individual awarded for the most valuable player in each discipline.
Full show results will be posted at www.baylorbears.com upon the show's completion.
