Baylor women's tennis returns to action on Friday as Zuzana Chmelarova, Taylor Ormond, and Karolina Filipiak travel to Midland, Texas, to compete in the Midland Invitational hosted by The Racquet Club.
"This is one of the finest tournaments we attend each year," said head coach Joey Scrivano. "The tournament not only draws great competition, but the hosts really go above and beyond when it comes to treating the student-athletes like world class participants."
Chmelarova and Filipiak enter the event with fall records of 5-2 each, while Ormond boasts a 1-1 record this year.
Action begins on Friday and continues through Sunday. The top singles draw features 32 participants from 11 different schools including Miami (Fla.), North Texas, UCLA, Pepperdine, Rice, Boise State, New Mexico, LSU, TCU, TU-Arlington, and Baylor.
The event features four ranked individuals in No. 14 Laura Vallverdu (Miami), No. 38 Sylvia Kosakowski (Pepperdine), No. 78 Nina Munch-Soegaard, and No. 86 Elizabeth Lumpkin (UCLA).
