Head Coach Guy Morriss
On good things that happened this year:
"Well I think you need to start with the offensive line, which has developed pretty nicely. They're going to be nothing but better next year. We have four returning starters for next year. Then you add some of those youngsters like red-shirt sophomores that got a lot of playing time late in the season and then we have some freshmen. I think we're making a lot of progress running the football, which is really good to see. We invested a lot of time in the run game and it looks like it is finally paying off for us. I've been pleased with the overall toughness of our defensive players and our staffs because they've been put into really bad field position situations and those kids have really fought hard. I'm also pleased with the progress of our freshman linebackers."
On Turnovers:
"Well, that is probably the biggest correlation between wins and loses. I think Kansas was a good example of that. They're leading the nation in turnover margin. Any time you get in a generous mood and start donating the football, it's never a good move."
On motivating factors:
"I believe they will get themselves ready for this week again. They're playing with a lot of pride with Senior Day. They'll be motivated and go out and try to win this football game for the seniors. I think it is motivating to go out and stop Oklahoma State from becoming bowl eligible in our backyard."
On Turnovers again:
"We need to get turnovers under control. If we don't, it'll be hard to beat anybody. That is my biggest concern right now. We just don't give ourselves a chance to be in the ball game"
On senior day:
"This is actually the remainder of the 2003 class. Two of the three were committed to Baylor before we got here and there's a special connection, you spend five years with a group you get to know them pretty well. You know their moms and dads and get to visit with them."
Offensive Coordinator Lee Hays
On the Oklahoma game:
"There is really not a whole lot to say about the game. I think our offensive line went out and had a really good game. I'm happy for Brandon (Whitaker); he got to go out and have a great game in his home state."
On OSU game:
"Looking at OSU, they've got a lot of team speed. I know that they've given up a few points here and there but they're dealing with a coaching change. Each week they get a little better, we just need to keep our defense off the field and score some points."
On his mindset of moving the ball:
"I'm hard headed. I go into every game thinking we can run the ball even though I don't get up here and say it. We can throw and catch a little to open up the run."
On Brandon Whitaker:
"Coach Jackson did a good job getting him ready. He would lower his head and get through to the second level and make a move on the safety and bounce it. He broke two big runs in the first quarter and fed off of it."
On zero Sacks and good running:
"Well it's hard to get a sack when the run game is working. I think the best thing of the night is that it took some of the pressure off of Blake Szymanski. If you're not getting five to six yards a pop, it makes it tough on the quarterback when you've got to dime it up a bunch."
On improvement:
"I think Blake's arm will be better and so will the offensive line. We are only losing one starter and we have some red-shirts there to step up."
Defensive Coordinator Larry Hoefer
On Oklahoma:
"Oklahoma is an outstanding football team, we want to congratulate them. I think they are underestimated in that (coaching) area; they have great players, but they have great coaches that have a good game plan, and a good scheme. I was proud of the way we played. We played hard and we played physical. This was probably the most physical game of the year. They have a really tough football team and so do we."
On Oklahoma State QB Zac Robinson:
"Oklahoma State has another outstanding offense. They have a lot of weapons. Their quarterback has played very well this year. He has done an outstanding job. His pass efficiency rating is good and he has thrown very few interceptions. He makes great decisions."
On Oklahoma State RB Dantrell Savage and TE Brandon Pettigrew:
"They have a great running back in Dantrell Savage. He ranks second in the Big 12 and 13th nationally running the ball. Offensively, Oklahoma State is number one in the conference in running the ball and third in total offense. Their receivers are a solid group and their tight end (Brandon Pettigrew) is an outstanding player. He is not only a great blocker, but he is also an outstanding pass receiver."
On defending the Oklahoma State spread offense:
"They can run the ball well, and they have good throwers and catchers. It is harder to defend. Offenses are getting better with all of this high school 7-on7 summer leagues. People can thrown and run the ball well. When you can do that, it makes it harder to defend. If you are one dimensional is makes it a lot easier."
On Texas high school football:
"High Schools in this state play very good football and they are throwing the ball better and better. You are seeing a lot of quarterbacks go out of state. We can't scholarship all of them. There are just so many quarterbacks that you can offer, but there are some really outstanding players."
On Oklahoma State's wide receiver depth after Bowman:
"They have a freshman, Dez Bryant, from Lufkin. He has made some good catches against some good football teams with some good defenders. They talk about (Michael) Crabtree (Texas Tech) , but this guy is really good. They will be fine at that position."
Blake Szymanski
On the upcoming game against OSU:
"We are going to try to play for ourselves, play for Baylor and try to gain a win."
On what the plan for this week is:
"Just try to have a good time and to leave everything out on the field."
Joe Pawelek
On game against OU:
"We showed some spurts of greatness during that game, but we need to keep it up and show greatness all four quarters."
On this upcoming game:
"We put too much time into this program to not go out and play hard and perform well."
Thomas White
On White's two touchdowns:
"I try to make the most of my opportunities and I had two come my way. Luckily I was able to get into the end zone."
On the new position:
"I have been able to use some speed against some linebackers and it has worked out well."
On how bad they want a win for this last game:
"It would be huge for us to pull this one out. We would like to go out on a positive note."
