Women's Tennis 12/29/2007 12:00:00 AM

Dec. 29, 2007

How has your game improved while you have been at Baylor?
It improved so much. I think I've improved mentally the most. Now I know more of what is going on, on the court, I am more capable of overcoming tough situations, I don't mind playing under pressure, and I am mentally tougher.

Of course I improved my strokes as well. I have been working hard on my strokes and I am willing to keep doing that every single day. I want to be the best.

How has being a student-athlete changed your life?
It is so much more difficult. The hardest part is that after two practices each day I have find the time and focus on studying. It is really hard sometimes, but it helped me to be more disciplined. I have to schedule everything.

What was your favorite memory spent with the team?
I would have to say whenever we beat Texas to win the Big 12 tournament. It was great. I won my match and I finished first and was able cheer for everyone. It came to the last match when Iva Mihaylova was playing the deciding match and she won 6-0 in the third set. She was just dominating; it was great.

What are your post-college goals?
I want to try to play professionally. I am working really hard so I want to try it.

What attracted you to your sport in the first place?
I love tennis because it is individual sport and you have to figure it out on your own and I can't rely on anybody else. Tennis is really competitive and I love absolutely everything about it.
