Bears Host UTA to Conclude Home Stand

Freshman right-hander Kendal Volz (2-0, 4.80 ERA) is scheduled to make his third start of the season for the Bears. Volz has logged 12 strikeouts in 15.0 innings over four appearances this season. He earned the victory in relief Saturday against Oral Roberts.
UTA is scheduled to start right-hander Andy Sauter (0-0, 99.00 ERA). The junior has made one appearance this season and was touched for four runs on two hits and three walks without recording an out.
Baylor is 39-9 at Baylor Ballpark since the start of the 2005 postseason; six of the nine losses were to nationally ranked opponents. Sunday's 4-2 loss to Oral Roberts snapped a 14-game winning streak for the Bears at Baylor Ballpark, the longest such streak since a facility-record 15-game run in 2000. Baylor has lost back-to-back home games only once since the start of the 2005 postseason and that happened last season - a 6-4 loss to second-ranked Rice and a 13-inning 7-6 loss to eighth-ranked
The Bears are 15-4 in midweek non-conference action since the start of the 2006 season, including a 13-3 mark on Tuesdays.
