Men's Golf Struggles at General Hackler Invitational

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. - The Baylor men's golf team sits alone in 15th place after two rounds at the General Hackler Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina at the TPC of Myrtle Beach.

Baylor shot 300 in the first round and 291 in the second round for a two round score of 15 over-par. Lamar, who finished second at the Louisiana Classics last weekend, recorded a two-round score of 23 under-par and holds a comfortable seven-shot lead over second place Southern California. Lamar's team score of 553 sets a tournament record for 36-hole scoring.

Colton Williams (Jacksboro, Texas), who shot six under-par to finish fourth at the Louisiana Classics, led the Bears at one under-par (72-71) to tie for 14th overall. Jeremy Frye (Palestine, Texas) is tied for 55th in the individual competition at five over-par (73-76).

Wes Williams (Franklin, Tenn.) sits one shot back of Frye at six under-par. Williams opened seven shots over par in the first round, but bounced back with a one-under 71 in the afternoon round.

Chase Thomas (Dallas, Texas) and Bill Allcorn (Abilene, Texas) are tied for 75th after shooting eight over-par through the first two rounds.

The final round of the tournament will go off No. 1 and No. 10 tees starting at 8 a.m.
