This year's features ninth-ranked Lamar and eight other teams that played in the 2006 NCAA Regional Championships. The other teams in the tournament include Arkansas-Little Rock, Louisiana-Lafayette, Memphis, North Texas, Rice, South Alabama, Texas State and UTEP.

Baylor enters the tournament following a 17th-place showing at the General Hackler Invitational at Murrells Inlet, S.C. last weekend. Prior to the Gen. Hackler, Baylor posted three straight top-three finishes, and placed in the top-seven in all five prior tournaments this year.

The tournament tees off with a shot gun start at 8:45 a.m. on Friday. The teams will play 36 holes on Friday and another 18 holes on Saturday, with the third round also beginning at 8:45 a.m.
