Baylor Head Coach Steve Smith:
On Texas' three starting outfielders:
"They obviously have got some very talented players. You'll have to look a lot to find three guys to play the outfield like that. All three of them made plays that were difference makers in all three games."
On the second home run hit by Kyle Russell:
"There's not many times when a pitcher will throw the pitch he wanted to in the location he wanted to, and the guy will hit it out of the park. (Russell) isn't the only guy over there that can do that."
On how his team can overcome the sweep:
"You get back on the field as soon as you can. They're frustrated, but you've got to go through some fire, you've got to go through some heat to get any better. That's what this league is going to do to them. At some point in time they'll come out on the other side. Whether it's this year or in the future I don't know, but at some point in time they'll come out on the other side."
On how he expects his team to respond:
"What I've got to do as a coach is try to keep them working hard. To me the only way that a young team can fail is if they just quit, and I don't see the handful of seniors on this team letting that happen."
On the youth of his team:
"Everything that they're going through right now, for at least half of the team if not more, is a new experience. I don't know how much telling them and how much mental preparation you can give them. They've just got to go through it. Nobody's going to enjoy it, but there is a price to pay and we're going to pay it for a little while."
Baylor starting pitcher Randall Linebaugh:
On Texas right fielder Kyle Russell:
"He's a tough guy to pitch to. Unfortunately for us we caught him while he's on a tear. Anything you throw up there he's bound to hit. I threw a few pitches up there that were a little off the plate and he hit them pretty well. He's seeing the ball well right now, and he's going to be a tough guy to get out in the future."
On how he felt today:
"I felt like I had pretty good command, pretty good stuff the whole game. They hit some of the pitches well that I thought were good pitches. We caught them on a hot streak right now, and they're all seeing the ball pretty well. It's just one of those times where you've got your good stuff but so do they, and you just tip your hat whenever they hit it. That's exactly what they did."
