Weems Named Big 12 Player of the Week

Weems was 11-for-17 in four games on the week with three doubles, two triples, a home run, nine RBI, 21 total bases, a 1.235 slugging percentage, five runs scored and a .648 on base percentage. He did most of his damage in leading the Bears to a series victory over Texas Tech, going 9-for-13 with seven RBI in three games.

A Freshman All-America selection last season, Weems hit safely in all four games on the week, extending his hitting streak to a career-long tying eight games. He is hitting .455 (15-for-33) during the streak with three multiple-hit games. Weems has hit safely in 21 of 26 games this season, going hitless in consecutive games only once. He currently leads Baylor in hits (34), doubles (8), home runs (4), RBI (25), extra-base hits (14), total bases (58) and slugging percentage (.558).
