Chase Gerdes had two of Baylor's three hits, including a two-run double in the top of the second that plated the game's first runs. However,
Baylor starter Cliff Springston (1-2) was touched for six runs, three of which were earned, on seven runs and a walk with no strikeouts over 4.1 innings.
Gerdes' two-run double in the second was the Bears' second hit of the inning as Seth Hammock led off with a single through the left side. Baylor did not get another hit until Gerdes led off the eighth with a single to right; however, he was stranded there.
Baylor returns to action Tuesday, hosting
