Colton Williams shot even par in the third round to lead Baylor to a third place finish at the Louisiana Classics at Oakbourne Country Club. Williams (Jacksboro, Texas), who shot six-under par through the first two rounds, fired a 72 on Tuesday to claim fourth place among the individual competitors.

"I thought that we played alright today," said head coach Greg Priest. "Some of our guys got going early, but then we had a couple of double-bogeys that hurt. But our guys hung in and were able to move up a spot."

Baylor shot 289 as a team in the third round, but was unable make up ground on the leaders as the top four teams each shot 289 on Tuesday. Southeastern Louisiana (277-285-289) earned the team title, with Lamar (281-287-289) finishing second, two shots better than the Bears (290-280-289).

Gary Woodland of Kansas earned medalist honors with a two-under par 70 on Tuesday to finish the tournament at 11-under par (70-65-70).

Williams was the top finisher for Baylor at fourth place, with Jeremy Frye (Palestine, Texas) tying for 11th place at two-under par (72-72-70). Wes Williams (Franklin, Tenn.), who fired two rounds under par on Monday, scored 75 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 15th overall (69-71-75).

"The course was set up a little harder today, so there were some higher scores," said Priest. "There were some tough pin placements, especially on the par-3's, but I thought that we played well for it being our first tournament."

Bill Allcorn (Abilene, Texas) overcame a tough first round to shoot back-to-back rounds of 72 to finish in a tie for 43rd at eight over-par (80-72-72). Chase Thomas finished at 11 over-par in a tie for 58th place (76-74-77).

The Bears return to action on March 11 and 12 as Baylor travels to Murrells Inlet, S.C. to take part in the General Hackler Invitational held at the TPC of Myrtle Beach.
