Women's Tennis Continues Conference Play on the Road

WACO, Texas - Baylor's No. 25 women's tennis team travels to Oklahoma this weekend for a pair of conference matches against No. 66 Oklahoma and No. 43 Oklahoma State . The Sooner host Baylor at 2 p.m. Friday in Norman and the Cowgirls welcome the Bears at noon Sunday in Stillwater. Baylor has a 6-5 overall record and 1-1 conference mark this season.

The Bears are ranked No. 25 nationally, having dropped from No. 14 last week with a loss at Colorado. But four singles players and one doubles team are ranked in the individual polls. Baylor singles ranked players are No. 38 Zuzana Zemenova, No. 52 Zuzana Cerna, No. 67 Lenka Broosova, No. 88 Jessica Zok. In doubles, Klara Zrustova and Broosova are ranked No. 55.

Baylor leads both series against the conference foes. The Bears are 8-3 against Oklahoma and 8-4 against Oklahoma State. Head coach Joey Scrivano is 3-1 against both teams.

The Bears played the last two conference matches, a win at Nebraska and a loss at Colorado, without two veteran players, Zemenova and Zrustova. Both went undefeated last season in Big 12 play and both are expected to return to the lineup this weekend for Baylor.
