WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's golf team is set to begin play at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational April 13-15 at the Karsten Course in Tempe, Ariz.

The Bears battled bad weather last weekend to finish 12th out of 15 teams at the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. Baylor carded a 315 team score in the opening round, the Bears' highest score of the season, before shooting 299 as a team on the second day.

Wes Williams (Franklin, Tenn.) was the top finisher for Baylor, firing 76-73 to finish at 5-over par in a tie for ninth place overall.

The ASU Karsten Golf Course is set in the shadows of ASU's Sun Devil Stadium. Awarded 4 stars by the prestigious Golf Digest Rating Panel, this well maintained and challenging design features Pete Dye's signature mounding and creative bunkering - making proper club selection essential for low scoring.

The course features a links style layout, highlighted by lakes, mounds and pot bunkers. Four sets of tees ranging from 4,765 to 7,057 yards provide memorable variety for all levels of players. Strategy is key and precise shot making is critical, as many greens are partially hidden and well guarded by bunkers and water.

Recaps after each day of competition will be posted on www.BaylorBears.com.
