TEMPE, Ariz. - The Baylor men's golf team carded a 288 team score to finish the first round at even-par at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational.
Oregon leads the tournament shooting 277 on the par-72 course to finish the first round at 11-under par. Derek Sipe of Oregon leads the individual competition, firing a 7-under par 65 through 18 holes.
Chase Thomas (Dallas, Texas) carded a 1-under par 71 to lead the Bears in a tie for 22nd place. Jeremy Frye (Palestine, Texas) and Colton Williams (Jacksboro, Texas) are tied for 31st at even-par.
Jeremy Alcorn (Brownwood, Texas) finished the first round at 1-over par in a tie for 44th place, while Wes Williams (Franklin, Tenn.) sits in a tie for 58th place at 2-over par.
Baylor is back in action on Saturday as the Bears compete in the second round at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational at the Karsten Course.
