HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The Baylor men's golf team dropped one spot, finishing the tournament in eighth place, at the 2007 Big 12 Men's Golf Championships. The final round was delayed due to inclement weather, as the course was cleared for 30 minutes after lightning was detected in the immediate area.

Baylor finished the tournament at 73-over par (304-300-307=913), two shots behind Missouri and four shots behind Nebraska.

"That is a hard, hard golf course," said head coach Greg Priest. "Everyone was putting up some pretty high scores; we just played some rough golf. I thought that we made a lot of mistakes that we shouldn't be making this time of year."

Oklahoma State earned its fifth team title as the Cowboys finished at 26-over par for the tournament. Pablo Martin of OSU won the individual title, shooting a 2-under par 68 on the final day to finish at 1-over par for the championship.

Bill Allcorn (Abilene, Texas) was the top finisher for the Bears, shooting 12-over par (75-73-74) to finish in a tie for 11th place overall. Chase Thomas (Dallas, Texas), the Bears' top finisher in each of the last two Big 12 Championships, tied for 22nd with a score of 17-over par (77-76-74).

Colton Williams (Jacksboro, Texas) finished in 44th place with a final score of 23-over par (79-76-78). Wes Williams (Franklin, Tenn.) and Jeremy Alcorn (Brownwood, Texas) each finished at 26-over par in a tie for 48th overall.

The Bears will await the announcement of the NCAA Regional fields which will be released on May 7. The NCAA Regionals will be held May 17-19 in Alpharetta, Ga., Sugar Grove, Ill., and Tempe, Ariz. The NCAA Championships will be held at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va.
