Bears Travel to No. 23 TCU

WACO, Texas -- Baylor baseball returns to action Tuesday, May 1, traveling to Fort Worth, Texas, for a midweek game at No. 23 TCU. First pitch between the Bears and the Horned Frogs is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CDT first pitch at Lupton Stadium at Fort Worth, Texas. This is the second and final scheduled meeting between the teams this season; TCU posted a 6-3 victory at Baylor in early April.

Baylor (25-21) is 5-5 in its last 10 games after a 16-12 victory at No. 18 Texas A&M in Sunday's series finale. The Bears are 6-11 this season away from Baylor Ballpark, including a 5-7 mark on opponents' home fields. Baylor is unranked in all four major polls.

TCU (34-10) has won six straight and 14 of its last 15 after sweeping San Diego State in a three-game series at home over the weekend. The Horned Frogs are 21-1 at home this season; the lone blemish was a 5-0 loss April 19 against Brigham Young. TCU is ranked 23^rd nationally in this week's Baseball America Top 25. The Horned Frogs also are ranked 27^th by Collegiate Baseball.

Baylor and TCU have played six common opponents this season - Oklahoma, Oral Roberts, Rice, UT-Arlington, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. The Bears are 10-6 against that sextet this season, while the Frogs are 7-4.

This is the 234^th meeting between Baylor and TCU, making this the third most-played series in Baylor baseball history behind only Texas (322) and Texas A&M (255). The Bears hold a 132-101 advantage in the all-time series, which dates back to the 1904 season. The series is tied 48-48 in games played at Fort Worth, where TCU has won the last two meetings.

After Tuesday's game, Baylor takes a week-long hiatus for final exams. The Bears return to action Wednesday, May 9, hosting Texas Southern at 6:30 p.m. Baylor returns to Big 12 action May 11-13 at Nebraska.
