WACO, Texas - Baylor's women's tennis team was honored for academic excellence during the annual Student-Athlete Banquet held Monday evening at the Ferrell Center.
The team was the recipient of the President's Cup, which is awarded to the team that carries the highest cumulative grade-point average. The women's team maintains a 3.35 cumulative grade-point average.
In addition, the University recognizes a student-athlete from each team that carries the highest grade-point average and senior Klara Zrustova was the women's tennis team's winner.
"Winning this team academic award was one of the goals our team set in the fall. I am very proud of our young women for making the commitment to academic excellence as well. It is important for us to be great at everything we do and our team has embraced that philosophy," said head coach Joey Scrivano.
