Athens, Ga. - Junior Zuzana Zemenova continues her march in the NCAA Singles Championships at the Dan McGill Tennis Campus at the University of Georgia, by advancing to the tournament quarterfinals.

Zemenova, ranked No. 18, downed third-ranked Melanie Gloria of Fresno State on Friday in the round of 16, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. The victory by Zemenova snapped Gloria's 22-match win streak, she had not lost in over three months. Of those 22 wins, 21 were in straight sets.

Zemenova will now play UCLA's Tracy Lin in quarterfinal action on Saturday. Lin defeated Florida's Csilla Borsanyi to advance.

"This was a great college tennis match between two outstanding student-athletes who were on top of their game. The first two sets were extremely competitive and in the third, it didn't look good for ZZ after falling behind 1-4. However, ZZ raised her level of play to win five straight games and advance to the quarterfinals," said head coach Joey Scrivano.

Live scoring and results will be posted on the internet on both the University of Georgia Athletic Association's official web site www.georgiadogs.com and at ncaasports.com.
