However, Czimskey blossomed in the second half of his senior season, hitting .362 with nine home runs, 37 RBI and 11 doubles in just 44 games. In Big 12 Conference games, Czimskey hit a league-best .386 with five home runs, 21 RBI and nine doubles in 21 games. Eight of his nine home runs came against Big 12 teams, including three at the Big 12 Championship where he earned all-tournament honors.
Czimskey continues Baylor's lineage of catchers who have signed professional contracts following their Baylor careers: Chad Polk (1998, Toronto Blue Jays), Bryan Loeb (2000, Arizona Diamondbacks), Kelly Shoppach (2001, Boston Red Sox), Paul Richmond (2002, Toronto Blue Jays), Josh Ford (2005, Arizona Diamondbacks) and Zach Dillon (2006, Baltimore Orioles).
