Cross Country 9/11/2007 12:00:00 AM

Sept. 11, 2007

Discuss what you have done during the summer to help prepare you for the upcoming season.

I put in lots of miles in training, and concentrated on getting my mileage up; that will be key to me being able to last this season.

As you begin your senior season, discuss what it has meant to attend Baylor for the past three years.

I love being at Baylor. I love the team at Baylor, both cross country and track. It has just been amazing and unique. I have grown as both an athlete and a person.

Discuss your role as a senior leader on the Cross Country team and what your goals are for this season.

I guess my role would be to lead through experience and to help with our young team. We only have two seniors and one junior returning, so the majority of the team is underclassmen. I hope to work with them and to let them know how to get through certain situations. As for goals, we are looking to go after the Big XII title and place higher at nationals then we ever have.

What do you see as your greatest challenge this season?

The Big XII is always competitive with schools like Colorado and Oklahoma State, but mainly to focus on what we can do and how that will play out this season.

As a senior, how do you think the program has progressed in the last three years?

The program has become more competitive. We have a much larger team that is able to travel. It goes to show that we have built the program to get national attention. We have gone to nationals the past four years, and we plan to do it again this year and better our performance each time.
