Art Briles

Opening Statement...
"I am certainly not pleased with the outcome of the game last Saturday. We let the environment get away from us. We didn't do a good job keeping momentum when we had the opportunity and I feel like we will be better prepared going up to Nebraska this week."

On Nebraska's football team...
"I think they are doing a real good job. They are playing with a lot more confidence these past couple of weeks. They are playing hard. They're doing a real good job up there right now."

On Nebraska's clock management at Texas Tech two weeks ago...
"There are two ways you can approach the new clock rules. Theirs is to use 40 seconds where most people are trying to get them off in 15 seconds. They are doing a great job of controlling the ball. They can throw the football and they do a good job with it. They are throwing it around and maintaining possession. So we have to stop them and put pressure on the other side."

On Nebraska Quarterback Joe Ganz...
"He is very poised, very active with the football. He is capable of running. That is the thing that worries you a little bit. You have to be aware on the defensive side of the ball."

On the stadium atmosphere at Nebraska...
"I've been up there before. They do an outstanding job, nothing different for them. They have been doing that since 1962. Their crowd is very aware and respectful. They love the game of college football and respect the people involved in it. It is a great atmosphere and I am glad that our players get to experience it."

On running the ball...
"We have to call good plays and execute the plays that were called. We were not as effective the other day as we would like to be. That will be a point of emphasis and we certainly hope to rush the ball better this week."

Freshman Quarterback Robert Griffin

On looking forward to Nebraska...
"I look forward to every game whether it's after a win or loss. Our goal is to keep getting better and since it's against Nebraska, they're a great team. They haven't been too good lately but they're a great team and we have to respect that."

On the importance of a win this weekend...
"It's very important. I don't think any game is a must win unless it's the last game. We need to stop trying to gain the respect from other teams because they already respect us in the way they prepare for us."

Junior Linebacker Joe Pawelek

On playing at Nebraska...
"When you sign up to play college football, you want to be in this type of atmospheres playing these storied programs. We have to take that for what it's worth. We will be in it, but once the game starts, we are worried about getting that second conference win."

Junior Free Safety Jordan Lake

On atmosphere at Nebraska...
"I grew up kind of watching Nebraska football because they were so good back in the 90s. It will be a good chance to go up there and see what the crowd and environment are all about."

On the importance of getting a win...
"It's definitely huge because we have to get to 4-4. Our last four are against some pretty good teams and we want to keep our bowl hopes alive."
