FORT WORTH, Texas - Sophomore Taylor Ormond won two singles matches on Sunday to advance to the Main Draw Final at the 2008 Wilson/ITA Southwest Regional at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

Ormond, who dropped last year's final match to teammate Lenka Broosova, defeated Lauren Santacroce of Texas A&M 6-2, 6-1 in her morning singles match before cruising past Harkins of TCU 6-4, 6-3 in the afternoon semifinal match. She will face Nina Munch-Soegaard of TCU in the event finals on Monday.

Csilla Borsanyi won the all-Baylor quarterfinal match, defeating Jelena Stanivuk 6-3, 7-6, 6-4 in the early matches before falling to Nina Munch-Soegaard in the semifinals 6-3, 6-3.

"I was please with they way all of our players played today," said head coach Joey Scrivano. "They were focused and hungry to compete. Csilla [Borsanyi] had a strong tournament but ran into a very tough TCU player today. I'm confident she will continue to develop and be an impact player for us in the spring. Taylor is improving with every match she plays and it is exciting to see her back in the finals again this year."

Zuzana Chmelarova won her singles match after Rebecca Lin of Rice retired with an injury at 6-7, 4-1. Kasia Siwosz also won her match by retirement after Amanda Craddock of Texas withdrew at 6-3, 1-0.

Ormond and Stanivuk dropped their doubles match 8-5 to Macall Harkins and Anna Sydorska of TCU in the Main Draw Doubles Quarterfinals.

The Lady Bears return to action on Monday morning as Ormond competes in the event finals at 11:30 a.m.
