Equestrian Remains No. 4 in Coaches Poll

WACO, Texas - The Lady Bears held onto their No. 4 position in the Women's Intercollegiate Equestrian National Coaches Poll.
The Auburn Tigers received 60 points to stay in the No. 1 position and have owned the top spot for the past three consecutive polls released. The Tigers are undefeated and will not compete again until Jan. 24, 2009 against Delaware State.
Georgia, the defending national champions, returned to the No. 2 spot to tie Texas A&M with 48 points each. The Bulldogs are now 5-1 after their triumph over SMU and previously No. 6 South Carolina last weekend.
Baylor and Oklahoma State maintained their places in the top five, while Texas Christian (24), Fresno State (23) and Kansas State (21) all moved up one spot.
South Carolina dropped three places to ninth place with 19 votes. New Mexico State received seven points and stayed at the No. 10 spot.
The collegiate coaches competing under the Varsity Equestrian Championship umbrella initiated the national poll. The poll will be released bi-monthly with the next announcement scheduled for Nov. 25, 2008. The final poll of the season will be released April 21, 2009.
Baylor will be back in action on Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. against Georgia and then on Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. against Texas A&M.
