Equestrian On Road for Two Matches

WACO, Texas - Texas - Baylor's equestrian team will take to the road for the third time this semester as they compete at Auburn and Georgia on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The Auburn match will begin at 1:00 p.m. (CT) and the Georgia competition will start at 9:00 a.m. (CT).
The Bears, 4-7 on the season, are coming off a 12-8 loss to Texas A&M. Auburn is 6-2 on the season after a loss against South Carolina last Saturday, while Georgia is perfect at home this year and 5-2 overall. Both teams will also host Oklahoma State this weekend, Georgia faces the Cowgirls on Saturday and Auburn will match up against them on Sunday.
Baylor and Georgia previously met on Sept. 30 in the Bears' season opener, the Bulldogs outscored the Bears 16-8 in Waco. This is the only scheduled match with Auburn this season.
In Hunter Seat competition, Nicole Brown, Mary Smitson, Beth Banister, Kendra Vicary and Heather Healy will ride in Equitation Over Fences while Cara Wilson, Brown, Smitson, Healy and Shelby White will compete in Equitation on the Flat.
In the Western discipline, representing the Bears in Horsemanship will be Allison Orosz, Maggie Griffin, Lindsay Douglas, Morgan Williams and Nicole McCoy; Madelyn Mooney, Valtie Riddle, McCoy, Katie Buss and Kim Marlowe will ride in Reining.
The competition format will feature a series of head-to-head match ups. The team accumulating the most head-to-head victories will win the overall match. In the event of a tie, the victor will be determined by total points. In addition, there will be an individual award for the most valuable player in each event.
