Equestrian Loses at TCU

MANSFIELD, Texas - Baylor's equestrian team saw its three match win streak halted when TCU downed the Bears, 9-6, on Saturday. The competition was Baylor's final regular season match of the season.
The Bears, now 7-10 on the season, won the Hunter Seat portion of the competition 4-3-1 and claimed both MVPs but dropped the Western events 6-2.
Nicole Brown continues to dominate Hunter Seat competition, claiming her 11 the MVP of the season when she registered the best ride in Equitation on the Flat and also scoring in Equitation Over Fences. In the same event, Cara Wilson also scored a point and Shelby White rode to a tie. Heather Healy earned her third Fences MVP of the season with an 85 point ride to complete Baylor's scoring.
TCU's Kindel Huffman swept MVP honors in both Western events and the Horned Frogs collected all four points in Horsemanship. Madelyn Mooney and Valtie Riddle earned Baylor's two points in Reining.
Baylor will now participate in the Central Championships hosted by Kansas State, March 28-29.
For the second straight season, Baylor will host the Varsity Equestrian Championships, April 17-19 at the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo Complex in the Dodge Show Pavilion.
