A team making waves on the women's side is Baylor: six weeks ago, the Bears jumped to No. 4 in the rankings, their highest national ranking in program history. After falling to fifth place for two weeks, the Lady Bears jumped two spots three weeks ago to No. 3. Two weeks ago, Baylor improved one spot to No. 2, the Lady Bears' highest ranking in program history before dropping to fourth last week following a loss to top-ranked Northwestern. Baylor fell to sixth this week, though the Lady Bears went 3-0 with two wins over ranked opponents last week.

Baylor started out by winning the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead before getting singles wins at the top five positions. No. 24 Zuzana Zemenova downed Magdalena Tokarczyk 6-3, 6-0 at number one singles, while No. 28 Taylor Ormond topped Elizaveta Avdeeva 6-2, 6-4 on court two. No. 13 Lenka Broosova defeated Edina Horvath 6-1, 6-0 at flight three singles, and No. 81 Jana Bielikova bested Kunigunda Dorn 6-2, 6-3 on court four. Zuzana Chmelarova downed Yuliana Svistun 6-4, 6-3 on court five.

Baylor dropped two spot to No. 6 in the nation according to the latest rankings from the ITA, it was announced on Tuesday. The Lady Bears, who achieve their highest ranking in program history at No. 2 two weeks week, fell two spots despite three wins, including two over ranked opponents, last week
The Lady Bears are currently 22-2 on the season, with its only losses to then-top-ranked Stanford at the 2008 ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Madison, Wisc and the current top-ranked team, Northwestern, last week. The Lady Bears have won 20 of their last 21 matches, including wins over 15 teams ranked in the top 75, and eight teams ranked 19th or better.
In addition, Baylor has four singles players and two doubles teams ranked this week. Lenka Broosova holds the No. 13 national ranking in singles, while Zuzana Zemenova fell one spot to 24th in the nation this week. Taylor Ormond is ranked 28th overall, while Jana Bielikova holds the No. 81 national ranking
Zemenova and Broosova combined for a No. 2 national doubles ranking, up two spots from last week. Ormond teams with Jelena Stanivuk as the 57th-ranked tandem in the nation.

Zuzana Zemenova was named the Big 12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches between March 10-16. The weekly award is the sixth career accolade for Zemenova and marks the second time this season she has earned the league's award.
