April 21, 2008
April 10th was my birthday!!!!!!!!!!! It was a great one that was very laid back, but also fun. I have so many great friends at Baylor, and my teammates are most of them. They took me to dinner at Texas Roadhouse and it was great. I got some AWESOME gifts. One thing to know about me is that when I am not on the field, I love acting goofy and am like a little kid. Needless to say, many of my presents came from the little kids sections of the stoor and I LOVED every single one of them!
4/13- We played at Nebraska and boy was it interesting. We were originally supposed to play one game on Saturday and one on Sunday. Unfortunatley we were flying with American Airlines, and we ended up being one of the many flights that were cancled on Friday. We ended up changing our games a doubleheader on Sunday and making Saturday our travel day... Boy was it long. We had to bus to Dallas Love, fly into Kansas City and then bus three more hours to Lincoln, Nebraska. We got in around 11 p.m. that night and got up the next morning for our games. As I am sure you already know, we split with Nebraska and were not very happy. We are going to continue to play hard and try to get through it. After the games we took the three hour bus ride back to Kansas City and got up on Monday morning to fly back home. It was a long 24 hour trip.
4/16- The Houston games were interesting to say the least. They were games of domination for both teams. The first game we were dominated by Houston and the second game we dominated them. Houston is very talented and we needed to get a win out of that trip to help us for post season play. In the second game we pulled it all together and looked more like a team that we have been, making it a fun game to be a part of.
4/20- The losses to Texas Tech were incredibly disappointing for me and the rest of the team. We were not ready to play and didn't play Baylor Softball. There wasn't one aspect of our game that looked great the entire time and that is what hurt us. We are just going to keep plugging and fighting hard because we do believe that God is doing something big with this team.
Senior Day- I never thought this day would come so fast. Its hard to believe that my four years are already coming to an end and that this was my last weekend to play at Getterman Stadium (We still have four games at home for mid-week games). It has been an incredible experience that I will forever cherish, but right now I am in that "its not really happening" mode. I have so much that I could say but I will save that for later...
Until next time,
Jordie
