Recap | Box Score

Baylor head coach Steve Smith:

On coming back from falling behind 5-0:

"We gave up the five-spot early, but our guys didn't sit around and we got right back into it. We got some pretty big outs out of Erik Forestiere, who hadn't pitched in a while, and that is really special. It's pretty impressive to see a guy go out there under these conditions, without an appearance in a while, and be effective. We played pretty well behind him. Beamer (Weems) and Raynor (Campbell) turned a double play that was a heck of a play; that was just a really special play. They had the presence of mind to know they had time, and they got it done."

On scoring 25 runs - a school record for runs in a road game:

"I try to teach our guys that you don't keep score in a game like this with runs - you keep score in a game like this with outs. Until we got what turned out to be the 24th out of the game, they were ahead. You play outs in a game like this, and you try to keep scoring, particularly on the road, and you don't want to go to the bottom of the last inning and have it be a close game."

On Jon Ringenberg and Brooks Kimmey scoring five runs apiece:

"We got great production out of the bottom of our order. Jon Ringenberg started a bunch of innings off, and had a really, really good night at the plate. Brooks Kimmey scored five times, and I know he was on base every time. He got forced out one time at second (base), or he would've scored six times. Those two guys at the bottom of the order did a great job getting on base, and we got some pretty productive at bats to follow them. Everybody got in on the party a little bit, but when those eight and nine-hole guys are getting on base like that, it sets up your order pretty well."

On Nick Cassavechia getting the final five outs:

"You should get a save for a game like this. He's not going to qualify for one by rule, but on a night like this, with the wind blowing out, it is (a save) in my book. It was a save, and it saved the rest of our pen. We really didn't want to throw Craig Fritsch tonight ... and Nick got the job done."

Baylor sophomore RF Aaron Miller:

On tonight's offensive performance:

"Any time they score 13 runs and you still run-rule them, that's definitely going to be a good day for the lineup."

On going 4-for-6 with five RBI:

"The wind was blowing out so we were just trying to get the ball up into the air, and we were able to square quite a few balls up to help out our (pitching) staff. We definitely needed today, especially coming off of four hits as a team yesterday. We needed to come out here and put a pounding on somebody."

On the team setting a new school record for runs in a road game:

"Hitting is so contagious in this lineup. After we gave up those five (runs in the second inning), we definitely didn't want to have something happen like it did last night or this weekend. We couldn't drop another one, so we got in there and started fighting."
